In these newest landscapes I am continuing with my quest to capture the essence of the Southwest: that sense of vast openness and quiet solitude. Sky, hills and trees are simplified down to the bare bones and wrapped in a rich palette of mouth-watering color.
In an increasingly chaotic and dark world, I give a resting point in these paintings. The eye can slow down while following the simple curve of a hill, and the heart can feast on pure glowing color.
