Artist Information
Georgiana Barton
Art has lead me on an interesting journey. My first art contest in the 60's, creating, producing, and selling a childrens line of clothing in the 70's, creating semi-precious jewelry in the 80's, to teaching and producing hand-dyed wearable art in the 90's and 2000's. Since retiring from a 13 year law enforcement career in 1996 and moving to Tahoe, I have had more time to study and learn various art mediums. Becoming a member and board member of the Tahoe Art League had given me many opportunities to learn, enjoy and share various art forms. My love of the fiber arts lead to many local, state and national awards. My on-going desire to learn how to manipulate, experiment, draw, and paint fiber has found new direction - silk paiting. Silk painting seemed like a natural extension of my art journey. My newest addition to my art journey is wet media - watercolor and ink. Art as any form has become a passion or maybe an obsession for me that I wish to share with others.
