Artist Information
Danae Anderson
Danae Anderson marks the first in a series of small focus exhibitions highlighting artists of our region. Anderson’s artistic influences are broad, from indigenous and Eastern art to contemporary artists such as Cy Twombly, Joseph Beuys and Jean Dubuffet.
At the heart of her work is a process based in physicality: her technique is immediate, creating chance association and allowing for the uncensored consciousness to emerge. These actions document and honor daily rituals, the self, and the banal in order to celebrate objects, language, events, dreams, fantasy, and the artist’s reflection about daily experience.
